Sword and Siege News

- The first update for Crusades: Book I
- A new Demo for the Sword & Siege series
- A new version of the Menu Program
Let's look at the update's details to begin. Crusades: Book I has been out a little over a month now and we're very pleased with its reception. Additionally, we're happy with the very limited number of problems that have been reported. Here's the changelog for the 4.01 update:
The addition of damage to both the defenders and underlying fortifications will be a welcome addition, we're sure.
You can get a copy of the new update from the Sword & Siege Support Page or you can download a new installer from your Store Account, whichever you prefer.
We are also moving this engine over the PNG format for graphics. We chose not to push this out for Crusades with this first update, as it would force a clean install. However it will be coming whenever the 4.02 update goes out - probably before the end of this year. The Demo is using PNG files however.
We know from past feedback that the Demos really help those who are "on the fence" about diving into a new series. Hopefully this offering is no exception. It includes two "tutorial" scenarios to give a new player the basics of this new engine, both in open field combat and siege warfare. Then an additional three scenarios are included, taken from the Book I game.
And, as with all of our other demos, this is completely free. You can grab a copy from the product page in our Store when ready.
And then we have a new version of the Menu Program being released. Version 4.09 includes support for this new demo released today and many other games we have in development. You can grab a copy here.
Still on the fence with the new Sword & Siege series? Head over to the forums to ask questions or see what others are saying. We'll also have a preview of the next title in development for the series in the not-so-distant future!
As we close we wanted to mention that we expanded onto three social networks this week, if you care to follow us in any of those places. Two of the three are linked at the top right of our website:
They are:

And that wraps things up for today... hope you enjoy the new content!
Thank you for the demo! I am one of those “on the fence” – I love the theme, though not sure how it will playout with the WDS system. Downloading now the demo, will try it later. Thank you!
P.S. Curious things that I am excited about all new WDS things, even if it’s something what I wasn’t looking for :)
I purchased this game without playing the demo and I love it. I do hope that you will soon pony up a demo for the WW1 series.
Love the game already and appreciate the update. Demo is a good idea, hopefully people will try it out, it will not disappoint.
Jazzed about this. I had been saying to people I would love a demo. I think this will be impactful for the series
