Napoleonic Battles
Command the Great Battles of the Napoleonic Wars
The WDS Napoleonic Battles series recreates the tactical battles of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars (1792–1815), allowing players to command the armies of Napoleon and his opponents in some of history’s most celebrated campaigns. Using 100-meter hexes and 10- or 15-minute turns, the series places you in command of formations ranging from battalions to entire corps, faithfully recreating the challenges of command during the age of black powder.
Success depends upon mastering the distinctive tactics of the era. Deploy infantry in line to maximize firepower, advance in column to press home an attack, form square against charging cavalry, and coordinate artillery, cavalry, and infantry to achieve decisive results. Every battle rewards careful planning, disciplined execution, and the timely commitment of reserves rather than reckless assaults.
Featuring campaigns from across the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, the series combines extensive historical research with a deep tactical simulation that captures both the opportunities and the limitations faced by the commanders of the era.
