Civil War Battles 4.05.3 Updates

We are bringing the Civil War Battles series up to date today with a further increment. A bug was found where the AI was not moving Supply Wagons when they were scripted, so we needed to get that squashed. Hence, the incrementing up to version 4.05.3.

Note: You must have done a Clean Install with version 4.05.1 to be able to apply these updates. If you didn't, go to your Store Account and download the new installer. Uninstall your existing version and then install the new. If you did that previously then there is a small update patch you can apply here.

** If you were already on 4.05.1 then you should be able to apply these updates and continue on-going games. If you are on an older version we suggest you complete those games prior to doing the clean install.

Most of the changes revolve around the AI, either refining how it handles things or fixing some bugs that have been found since the last update.

However, there is one change to game play that may take veteran players some getting used to. Artillery now has a maximum number of guns that can be stacked in a hex. Given the average Max Stacking setting in the PDT the number of guns will generally be 12 per hex maximum. You can see section 5.2.3 of the User Manual for more information on this.

The is primarily a "maintenance" release, but there have been problem reports with the AI not executing scripts properly. From our testing this version resolves those issues.

Ok, short and sweet today... when ready, head on over to the Civil War Battles Support page to grab the updates, or to your Store Account as the need calls for.

Wow! You guys are on it! Huge shout out to the devs working on this. Fast updates and good comms….you are setting the bar for everyone else to meet.

Just curious, how long does it take to unlimber and load 6 guns to get them ready to fire?

Thanks for the work and the quick response to fixes on the last update. Keep up the great work guys!!

I still don’t like that artillery cannot unlimber and fire in the same turn. From personal experience in a horse battery of 12 pounders I know that once we unlimber we are ready for action.
